The Vocabulary Builder Tour

New York City's only SAT-prep walking tour.

From Jared

This is New York City's only SAT-prep walking tour — created and taught by a former Stanley Kaplan Verbal PSAT instructor. The goal: 60 new words in two hours.

The method: index cards, context, and association. Students hear the word, see it in the built environment, question its meaning, and write it down. Movement and story make vocabulary stick in a way a classroom rarely can.

How it works

Every student gets a set of index cards to build their own deck as we walk. Words come from the environment — architecture, signage, storefronts, park features — and each is planted in a story so it's still there weeks later.

My business card says 'raconteur' — someone thought that means 'raccoon trainer.'
